Samsung World’s Largest Smartphone Company.

Samsung Electronics has regained its position as the biggest smartphone manufacturer in the world after shipping over 83 million devices during the first quarter of the year.

The latest global report from research firm Strategy Analytics has revealed that Samsung sold 22 million more smartphones than its closest rival, Apple, between January and March. Its own shipments were also up by 10 million from the last quarter of 2014. The Korean manufacturer shipped 28 million devices during the same period in 2014, and the drop in sales recently resulted in falling profits.

Neil Mawston said: “Samsung continued to face challenges in Asia and elsewhere, but its global performance has stabilized sufficiently well this quarter to overtake Apple and recapture the first position as the world’s largest smartphone vendor by volume.”

Samsung Reclaimed the first position with estimated 26.1% market share, Apple at estimated 16.9%, Huawei estimated 11.4% which aims to become the world largest smartphones maker within four years.

Samsung is traditionally the world largest smartphone maker and supplies inexpensive phones all over the world with their flagship phone which not a surprise for everyone. However, Samsung recalls the Galaxy Note7 due to defective batteries, so Apple overtook Samsung in the fourth quarter due to Samsung Galaxy Note 7.

TrendForce said the company’s sales results for its high-end smartphones still “fell short of expectations” in the first quarter, as consumer confidence in the brand had “yet to fully recover” from Galaxy Note7 recall and subsequent discontinuation in the fall.

But then also Samsung continued success in Mid-range and low-end range segments of the market allowed to reclaim its crown with the first position.
