The company announced that the next version of its LTE Modem for its Exynos chipsets will now support to Six Carrier Aggregation which will allow the download speed up to 1.2 Gbps. So we can expect Samsung Galaxy S9 faster. It will boost 20% faster than the current modem found in Samsung Galaxy S8.
The Korea-based semiconductor giant will start mass production of mobile processor adopting the new Cat.18 6CA-supported LTE modem technology by the end of this year.
While Samsung’s current Exynos 9 Series (8895) modem supports 5CA and turned the S8 into the first gigabit-speed phone, Samsung added one more bandwidth in its newest modem to generate the 1.2 Gbps boost. The updated modem will allow phones to download HD movie in 10 seconds and it will also eliminate buffering during video calls and live streaming broadcast.
The new modem also includes more stable data transfer, Multiple Input and Multiple Output, and the ability to aggregate licensed and unlicensed network spectrum from network carriers.
Samsung is planning to make its next smartphone to be the fastest smartphone in the market and will be ready with supporting the 5G service whenever it will come in market.
Samsung is expected to announce its next fastest smartphone at MWC 2018 in February.
